KPMP Participant Letter:
Winter 2021
Dear KPMP Participant,
It’s been six months since we updated you on KPMP’s progress. KPMP in-person visits, including recruitment, biopsies, and follow-up visits resumed in August.
So far, 71 people have agreed to participate in KPMP. We 55 completed biopsies. Tissue from these biopsies is being studied all over the country.
The research is still early. Yet, the KPMP researchers have made some interesting observations about the relationship between chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury. When we have more data, we will share these observations with you.
KPMP patient partners published two papers. In one paper, Precision medicine in kidney disease: the patient’s view, they talked about their experience as KPMP patient partners. The article appeared in the August 8 edition of Nature Reviews Nephrology.
Please share this paper with your family and friends. If they want to learn more, give them this link (https://www.kpmp.org/for-participants) to the KPMP Introduction video.
TheKPMP could not exist without volunteers, like you, who have undergone a kidney biopsy. Please contact us if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
